Never Buy Shoes That Don’t Fit

Reading Time: < 1 minutes

The Story

I bought shoes that were slightly too big. The store had none that fit perfectly. The shoes were not on sale.

I didn’t want to wait to find a pair that fit perfectly. So I bought the shoes that didn’t fit.

I tried to return the shoes. But it was too late. I was stuck with shoes that didn’t fit.

I tried to sell the shoes. So I posted the shoes on Facebook Marketplace.

Many people were interested. But no one was willing to pay near full price for someone else’s shoes.

Until one day. A man offered to buy the shoes that didn’t fit.

He would only buy them if I drove across town to deliver. I agreed to deliver the shoes for an extra fee. He agreed.

When I get there, the man said his girlfriend will e-transfer me the money. So we wait for 30 minutes for the money to come in. We got to know each other.

I trusted him and decided to leave since e-transfers can take a while to come in sometimes. So I gave him the shoes and went home.

The money never came. The man stopped answering.

Never buy shoes that don’t fit.
