Frequently Asked Questions
How Do I Request A Session?
You can fill out this 3-minute questionnaire and I will get back to you as soon as possible. You can also call or text me at (819) 452-0170 or email me at duddhawork@gmail.com. Once the time and location is determined, I will create an event in Google Calendar to invite you.
Where To Meet?
Your choice! I will do my best to meet you at the most convenient location for you. I can come to your home, school, library, etc. It might be of your interest that there is a lower cost associated with a location and a time that is convenient for me (see fees below). Click here for a map of Carleton University Campus to help you find the Math Tutorial Center (MTC).
How Much Is It Per Session?
It depends on many factors such as the location and the number of sessions needed. The standard price is 100$/hour .
Should I Book A Weekly Session Or Book As I Go?
It’s really up to you. A weekly session would ensure you a consistent spot as my availability fills up quick. I also found that clients perform better with a weekly session because there is a lot of material being covered in a week of classes.
How Can I Pay?
You can pay cash or e-Transfer. If we meet more than once per week, we can agree on a more convenient payment frequency such as a bi-weekly one.
Can You Tutor More Than One Person At Once?
Yes! It may be the best option for you if you know other people who are struggling with your course. If you are interested in group sessions, I can ask my other clients who may taking your course if they would be interested in joining you for a group session. I always select people who I know will get along and who are at a similar level in there learning curve. A group session lowers the price and may increase learning since there is a collaborative element to the sessions. Furthermore, group sessions allow you to meet people and study partners. Often, clients who take part in group session stop needing to meet me because they now help each other. Independence is the goal!
Core Concepts Made Simple
Below are some of the fundamental math concepts that all other knowledge will be built on. These concepts need to be mastered before moving on to more advanced topics. Therefore, I have built this section to provide students a toolkit to get started the right way. For each of these concepts I will provide a brief explanation, some worked examples, a flashcard deck to practice on the go, some extra help and practice problems from other sources. Note that the order roughly follows the order of the concepts being introduced in the canadian curriculum.

What People Are Saying About Olivier
Leave a ReviewPrevious Students
Returning for another degree after nearly two decades, Olivier was able to remind me of rudimentary high school math, all the while tutoring me through Calculus I and Linear Algebra I. With Olivier, he was able to direct the sessions to what was needed in order to succeed in the course, all the also while integrating matters of lesser importance. Olivier understood my weakness’ and was able to solidify them quickly. His knowledge of the subject matter and the ease in his ability to communicate these are of great value. Being fluently bilingual in French and English was of great help. Thank you, again, Olivier!

Olivier helped me through my summer course, Business Statistics – 2606. He was extremely patient, supportive and continued to work around my schedule. With Olivier’s help, I passed all my assignments, quizzes and felt confident heading into my exam. I’d recommend Olivier to anyone!
– Leah
Olivier TA’d in one of my courses this semester and he has been the best TA I’ve ever had. He’s an absolutely excellent teacher. He has a natural aptitude for it and genuinely cares about helping his students learn. He has a knack for making complicated concepts palatable and easy to understand. I cannot recommend him enough.
– Quinn
Olivier is an amazing tutor. I was studying abroad and I needed to pass statistics to graduate from my Masters in Business program. I was surprised at how statistics just made sense to me working with Olivier. He made it easy to understand. When I flew back to write the exam, he even helped me via email with some questions before the exam. I’m grateful to have had him in my corner. He is very intelligent but above all his personality, attitude, and desire to support others is what makes him a phenomenal tutor.

Olivier was the best tutor! He takes the time to understand how you best learn and he makes a world of difference! I had failed university calculus the first time around, and with his help, I got a 98% on the final exam and aced the course. He really goes above and beyond to help! Would highly recommend his services!!!!

Had Olivier help me with my calculus exam review at Carleton University, he was really great at helping me understand difficult concepts. He knows many tips and tricks that help you remember how to solve long equations! He kept things fun and interesting while tackling difficult problems! Overall enjoyed his tutoring and hope to have him again.

I have been provided valuable support and tutelage by Olivier for the past two years in various Math and Physics courses. Olivier differentiates himself from others by offering tailored sessions that meet individual needs, addressing gaps in learning while offering a holistic approach to learning. The teaching style is delivered with patience, understanding, and a goal to build confidence through the restoration of math foundations that provide a path to mastery. Despite the current pandemic, his use of technology and knowledge of programs allowed for a seamless transition from in-person to virtual sessions, while offering the same level of excellence. I struggled with Math for many years, utilized various tutoring centers and individuals, almost giving up, until finding this amazing teacher who changed my educational trajectory and attitude towards mathematics. If you are looking for a punctual, committed professional who is passionate about math and delivers results, look no further. Success can also be yours 🙂

Best tutor ever! Not only does Olivier take the time to fully make sure you comprehend the material, but he also develops learning and studying strategies that fit your needs. I was excited to go to tutoring every time because I was excited to learn. 1000% would recommend. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

I had one of their staff Olivier Chabot tutor me in my first year at Carleton University for my calculus course. Honestly was the most friendly and relatable person. He made learning the material easy and fun. I’ve recommended to friends before and they all seem to love the way he teaches. He helped turn what was a D to a B and for me that was very amazing to be a part of.
– Elizabeth
Really impressed with the quality and adaptability of Olivier’s tutoring. As a mature student, he has done a great job of helping combine my previous knowledge with what I need to know now. I couldn’t recommend him enough.
